I love hearing men complain about the costs of dating in NYC.  Yes, they should take care of the first few dates and really take a woman out.  Yes, that may cost a pretty penny, but let’s stop with the complaining.  Here are the costs of female upkeep to look the way we do for a date:

Hair cut every 3 months – $150

Hair balayage every 3 months to make this dazzling blonde woman you see before you – $220 and that’s a deal!  Yes I go to two different places because I’m a real trendsetter like that.

Wax the you know what every month – $30

Nair cream to remove my facial hair – yes, women have facial hair and no, I don’t want to do laser. I’m somewhat blessed that I’m not really hairy. This is super cheap – $8 for a bottle that lasts a whole year!

Let’s talk about makeup.  Regular trips to Sephora are probably about $50-$100 a month.  Some makeup lasts longer than others.

Eyebrow threading once a month  – super cheap at $9

Manicure – $15 per week. Manicure prices have gone up girl!

The cab to get to the date if we’re not meeting at the bar down the block from me.  I don’t want to sweat on the subway!  $20.  You’re welcome!  But let’s get real, I usually tell the guy he should pick a place in my neighborhood.

Fitness classes – $30 a class, but now I do Lekfit on demand at home mostly, so comes in at a low low price of $19.99 per month.  Let’s not forget the mini trampoline for $40 to go with it (that’s the super cheap one from Amazon) and the sneakers that have never been on the filthy streets of Manhattan for another $40.

Oh, how about our amazing style?!  Well, I don’t go shopping that often anymore (I’m really working on my financial diet!) but let’s say on average, women in NYC spend at least $500 to $1000 a year on clothing.

Razors and shaving cream.  Okay, shaving our legs is cheap.  Maybe it comes out to about $5 a month.

Massages to release stress and tension – about $50 a month at my fave no frills place.

Facials! Let’s not forget about facials to make sure our skin is just right!  That’s probably about $120 every 3 months.

Don’t forget about all of our skin products – moisturizer, face wash, wrinkle cream, blemish treatment.  I would say that comes out to approximately $50 a month and I know plenty of women that spend much more.

Birth control!  Thank goodness Trump hasn’t taken away my Nuva Ring prescription.  No copay on my plan!

Ok, let’s get to our “clean” eating.  Besides my particular health issues where I am constantly changing my diet to feel better, women in general (at least in NYC) are consistently trying to eat healthy and the “right” food whatever that means – organic, non gmo, gluten free.  I would say on average, I probably spend about $300 to $400 a month on groceries.

Last but not least, most women in their 30s are not living with roommates anymore and are not willing to live in squalor like some of these bachelors.  Therefore, our small but clean and beautiful apartments in the location we desire are anywhere from a $2,400 to $2,900 a month.  Oh and let’s include our cleaner for about $60 a month since we are professional women that don’t have the time to clean but again won’t live in squalor like our counterparts.

So men, let’s stop complaining about taking us lovely women out on dates and footing the bill. Appreciate our company.  And if you’re on a date with me, trust that you will be entertained.  I should charge at least a $20 cover and two drink minimum for the laughs I bring.

P.S. Below are those new sneakers I just got – obsessed!!
