As I sit across from my bestie from Tel Aviv, her sweet bubba baby boy grabs at her to get her attention.  She turns to him, hands him her phone to distract him for a few minutes so she can finish listening to my story.  While her son is so deliciously cute, we then go down the list of all the things she can no longer do.  Let’s enjoy the time we have now because once we have children, our free time is pretty much gone. Here are the top things to do before you have children:

  • Binge watch Netflix all day.  Preferably in sweats and with me.

  • Go for a rooftop drink after work just because it’s finally 70 degrees out.

  • Eat whatever you want, whenever you want.  No one else to feed but yourself right now.

  • Go to the Kelly Ripa trendy dance class at AKT.  No babysitting services there?! That’s cool, you don’t have that baby yet!

  • Get a manicure and pedicure. Maybe even throw in that 10 minute chair massage because hey, you don’t have any reason to rush.

  • Eat that edible.  Just because you can.

  • Travel! This one is a biggie! Take that 11 day trip with your bestie and don’t feel guilty about missing work! I’ve already planned my August trip.

  • Date.  Be in a relationship.  Whether you’re just dating around or in a relationship, enjoy that time meeting new people or being with that special person.  Savor those romantic moments.

  • I can admit that I’m not super spontaneous, but yeah, be spontaneous, whatever that means to you.  Say yes to the last minute date.  Say yes to the mimosa at brunch.  Say yes to that last minute weekend away.  Go for it!

  • Buy that dress you love. Splurge (a little!).

  • Finally and most importantly, make your wildest dreams come true.  What is something you’ve always thought about doing? What is that secret thing you always wanted to try?  For me, I’m getting on that stage to give you some laughs.  It’s now or never baby and here I am!

P.S. Here’s a good splurge that I am all for – lululemon leggings! Got my first pair recently and love!
